FINANCEÂ I STRATEGY I PROFIT I COACHING
So, let me tell you a bit about me (aside from what I do for a living):
I’m a British-Australian, doting dog mum to cocker spaniel, Buddy, oh, and a chartered accountant by trade.
I spend my days bringing flavour and fun to the dry world of finance across businesses both big (BIG4, big) and small. Because, ultimately, I reckon financial literacy is the not-so-secret ingredient to success.
Climbing my way up the slippery corporate ladder for the past 15 years, I’ve noticed a few things. Firstly, folks mostly avoid their finances because it’s intimidating, infuriating and isn’t as accessible as it bloody should be.
I’ve also found that despite the numbers of it all, money is deeply personal stuff; and only when we’re ready to confront our attitudes towards it can we change its trajectory. That’s where I work my magic.
I’m here to help demystify your money by finding the feeling and fun of it all. Conjuring a little pragmatism and some healthy intuition, I’ll show you how to find joy in your wealth and, more importantly, bring in more of it!
Never thought I’d be a numbers person, so why am I here?
You could say I’m enchanted by the land down under. I was raised in the UK and moved across the globe to Melbourne for work in 2011. Then, after a whirlwind week-long trip, I fell in love with Sydney. But, I’m also an avid traveller who loves tying-in new adventures during my regular trips across the pond.
Oh wait, WHYÂ finance?
Right. Well, finances are often perceived as bitter, dry, and, well – boring. And historically, this wisdom has been kept from women and marginalised people, as if cloaked in a kind of magicians’ code mystery. But, as a small business owner, it’s crucial to know what your money is doing if you want to do nice things like grow, profit – or keep the lights on. So, while money feels like a very inhuman thing, it’s (actually) integral to how we live and participate in society as humans. There’s got to be a better way to share, validate and support literacy around it, right?
A vision to vanish accounting clichés.
When we understand our money and how it aligns with our values, we can start making more informed decisions around it. I’m here to help small business owners see past the smoke and mirrors, to find a sense of enjoyment, empowerment and abundance in their finances, so that uninspiring accounting is a thing of the past.
